About Ms. Barklow
I started my teaching career at Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, NH before coming to Thornton Academy in the fall of 2005.
I grew up in Concord, NH and my love of reading and literature started in the 2nd grade when I was introduced to Nancy Drew. When I realized I wasn't going to be a girl detective with a cool car, I studied English and Theater at Lafayette College in Easton, PA. When I'm not teaching, I love good film (Hitchcock & noir) and books (I still love a good mystery), spending time with family and friends, and traveling when I get a chance. Every time I assign a paper, I do empathize with my students; I spent many summers working on my Master's Degree in Literature at the Bread Loaf School of English, Middlebury College. And while I enjoyed writing papers surrounded by the beauty of Santa Fe, NM and the mountains of Vermont, I am happy to have earned my degree in June of 2013. |
